It’s a…
12 04 2008I just received a call from my brother in law, Andy Weld, who shared the exciting news that my sister, Emily had a baby girl! Her name is Catherine Jean Weld. The ladies, including my wife, asked me the same question next: “How much did she weigh?” All I know is that she is a healthy baby girl born around 6:45 this evening! We hope to run by tonight to meet the new arrival and congratulate the parents!
We’ll post more news soon!

Well, I must say that was an uber-typical “guy-thing” to do!
Guy: They had their baby!
Girl: How much did she weigh?
Guy: Don’t know.
Girl: Didn’t you ask?
Guy: No. (with a “why would I?” implied in the “no”)
Girl: Well, how big is she?
Guy: I’m not sure.
Girl: I’ll bet you didn’t even ask about how the delivery went!
Guy: Sure I did! He said it was “fine”.
Girl: “Fine?!?” That’s all he said, “fine”?!?!
Guy: Yeah, he said it went fine.
Girl: Gah! Men!

Here’s the real news:
Emily and baby Kathryn are doing great. I think it’s pretty cool my dear friend, Amy (Wold) Laughman, just had a baby Kathryn a few weeks ago. Two little Kathryns enter the world!
Kathryn Jean Weld was born on Saturday, April 12th (one week overdue exactly) at 6:43pm, weighing in at 7lbs 3 oz and 19 inches long. She has dark hair and girl lips.
