Kirstie & Heidi
10 10 2007We’ve had a recent influx of visitors from the East. Daniel, Jenny and Kirstie arrived several weeks ago. Daniel put in a skylight in our kitchen window. It looks beautiful! It was great seeing Jenny and Daniel. Kirstie will have been here for a month in all. It is so much fun to get a long period of time with her to enjoy life together! I love how Joel especially latches on to his aunts when he sees them. His pet name for Kirstie is “Ayah.” Heidi arrived last Tuesday and will be here for two weeks. She adds many things to our home including hearty laughter.
Today is lonely with just Joel and Chalice. It seems our neighborhood has gone to sleep. I keep wondering what’s going to happen like in that game “Mafia” when all the people “go to sleep” then wake up and SOMETHING has happened. I suppose it doesn’t help that I’m still trying to plow through a huge reading assignment for my course on terrorism. Truly, a peaceful neighborhood is a pleasant diversion from mowing, helicopters, and yappy dogs.
David is in Chicago for a painting conference this week. Heidi and Kirstie are in Disneyland for the day. Joel is identifying every item around him. Chalice will be a whole year next Wednesday! Joel frequently gets stuck and says “I suck” over and over!

Well, David, it’s time for another post from you (or nudge Joli to do it).
I’m sorry you’re without Kirstie and Heidi, but Iwe’re happy to be with them once again.
Needless to say, we missed them. (You can imagine how much we all miss Joli and you and your precious little ones.)
On a somber note, several of us drove across the Chesapeake Bay today to attend my Uncle Francis’ memorial service. I never realized he was only 14 years older than me! When I was very young he would drive over to our house and pick me up to take me miniature golfing. (As a 4 year old I simply considered him another big person like my dad or other uncles. He was actually only about 17 or 18. My dad was almost 10 years older than Uncle Francis.) I’ll send the obituary my cousin Julie (his daughter) wrote in the Easton (Maryland) paper. Sadly, he let his life deteriorate these last several years. He never really displayed the joy of the LORD. It’s very sad.
We did get to spend a couple hours @ Damien and Kate’s in Cambridge and that’s always fun. He’s the only other person (besides you) who I know enjoys coffee as much as me.
Speaking of coffee it’s getting late here in the East so I need to get to bed but I’m looking forward to my morning cup!
The LORD bless you and keep you and yours.
