Chalice arrived home from the hospital Saturday night! We are grateful to report that she is definitely doing better. She still is not 100%, but it looks like she is on the mend. We have her in our guest room with a humidifier going around the clock.

My Quick Babysitting Story

I have to share something that now is a little funny. I told Joli Sunday afternoon to go ahead and leave Chalice with her Daddy so she could attend the women’s home group! Joli gave me clear instructions to care for Chalice and went off to the study! I was Mr. Mom that evening with Chalice and Joel. I decided it was the least I could do: put the kids to bed and watch a movie! I think the Lord had other plans for me that evening, because Joel did NOT want to sleep and Chalice decided she wanted to cry for mommy. I can take crying for maybe 15 minutes but not 1 1/2 hours! I tried everything possible to get her to settle down, but she had nothing to do with obeying her loving, caring father. She wanted MOM! I cried out in complete frustration, “Oh Lord help…” I began to think how Joli and other moms do it!

After pausing my movie who knows how many times, comforting Chalice, and putting Joel back to bed for the third time, I gave up and called Joli! I kid you all not, Chalice calmed down and was “happy” the remainder of the evening the moment Joli was in the car driving home. I think the Lord has a sense of humor. My guess is that He decided to answer my cry for help, and I believe the women’s group also prayed that this helpless father would be shown mercy!

Oh wow! Joli is a great MOM! Her job is 10x harder than my job. I am so grateful to be married to a mighty woman who loves me, did not mock me for my lack of parenting skills, and does a terrific job managing our little home!

Thank you all for your prayers and listening to my little story.
